She completed dual fellowships in vitreoretinal surgery at Seoul's Asan Medical Center and Columbia University's Harkness Eye Institute, where she trained under the mentorship of Doctors Stanley Chang, William Schiff and Lawrence Yannuzzi. Dr. Lee holds both a Ph.D. in Visual Sciences and medical degree, combining advanced academic credentials, deep research experience, with specialized clinical training.
